Today, April 25, 2013, marks the 96th birthday of the late, great jazz singer, Ella Fitgerald. Her purity of tone, impeccable diction, phrasing and intonation, and "horn-like" improvisational ability, particularly in her scat singing, brought joy to many, including myself.
